New York -- May 3, 2007 -- Daylight Forensic & Advisory LLC, a leading international regulatory consulting and forensic accounting firm, today announced the opening of an office and electronic discovery lab in London. The lab and its data handling and processing procedures have been designed to fully comply with the European Commissions Directive on Data Protection and to ensure the highest level of physical and IT security, giving Daylight a rare ability to support clients with interests on both sides of the Atlantic.
Daylights London office is led by Executive Director Bernard Factor, who has 15 years of forensic and litigation support experience working for banking and corporate clients throughout Europe, Asia and South America in relation to fraud, anti-money laundering, market abuse and other regulatory matters. Most recently, Factor specialized in the financial sector, where he has advised clients on a range of compliance, risk-management and governance issues.
Having an EU-compliant office is an important step forward for Daylight Forensic because it gives us the ability to conduct investigations for clients with interests in both the United States and Europe, said Ellen Zimiles, Daylights co-founder and CEO. Having an office in the EU also will help us better serve European companies that are considering listing their shares on American stock exchanges and need to comply with U.S. laws on money laundering and dealings with foreign officials.
Factor has undertaken numerous appointments for international regulators and acted on some of the most high-profile European investigation cases, including the Milan Magistrates Mani Poluti investigations, the ICEP review of Holocaust victims assets in Switzerland and the Grupo Torras affair in Spain. Factor was a partner in a Big Four accounting firms forensic practice in London from 2000 to 2005. From 1996 to 1998, he was assigned to the London Stock Exchange, where he led the Special Investigations Unit, which is responsible for inquiries into breaches of exchange and listing rules as well as suspected cases of insider trading or share price manipulation. He was appointed as a statutory inspector by the U.K. secretary of state to investigate unauthorized promotion of companies to the London Exchange.
Bernard Factor has helped guide some of Europes most high-profile financial investigations and is the perfect person to manage our London office as we begin serving clients in the UK and Europe, said Joe Spinelli, Daylights co-founder and COO. His experience as a corporate investigator and a regulator enforcing London stock-exchange rules will help us advise a wide range of clients.
Daylights London office is located at 35 New Broad Street, EC2M 1NH, and can be reached at 44-20-7194-8361. Daylight Forensic & Advisory is headquartered in New York and has offices in Washington and Miami.
